Paterson Habitat for Humanity’s Homeowners Association meeting on ways to reduce flooding in Paterson (rescheduling)

January 29, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Guest speakers: Great Swamp Watershed Association Sewage-Free Streets and Rivers campaign

The City of Paterson has an old and outdated water infrastructure system known as a Combined-Sewer System. After rainfall, the system can becomes overloaded and releases both storm water and raw sewage into the Passaic River. Flooding is a major problem due to the lack of green space to absorb the water. Learn what you can do to reduce flooding, about the benefits of green solutions, the flood insurance community rating systems and what Paterson is required to do by the state to reduce Combined-Sewer Overflows.
